ALW:
German Division Coordinators Cordula & Sebastian Hallensleben
Cordula Hallensleben was born and educated in Germany. After
finishing grammar school and working as an au pair in London she
studied medicine at the Universities of Freiburg and Tübingen.
During and after her studies she worked in hospitals in Germany,
the United Kingdom, and India in a variety of specialties, with a
particular emphasis on surgery. She is now living in the United
Kingdom, where in addition to her translation work she is carving
out some time for learning acupuncture and Chinese philosophy. Her wide variety of interests and skills, ranging from the technical to arts and letters make her ideal for handling the wide ranging needs of the translations that come her way.
Her husband, Sebastian, also grew up in Germany. He
studied physics at universities in Germany and the United Kingdom
and now splits his time between translating and working on a PhD
at the University of Sussex. Being a computer enthusiast he is
always exploring new ways to employ computers to facilitate
translation processes. His fields of expertise and knowledge of computers are a natural complement to Cordula's, especially for handling high-tech work and the handling of Web pages and other Internet related translations.
